Tino has always had a good eye for designs and decoration. Although his pattern designs are pretty strange, they still have an attractive, unique look to them. He used to want to become a chef, but his family and friends begged him not to.
Extracurricular Activities: Being the unique young cook he is, the first club he applied to was the cooking club. Unfortunately for him, he got kicked out shortly after sharing his first dish with the rest of the club members. What happened afterwards is referred to as the 'Finnish Omelet Incident', and is rarely brought up (It brings back painful memories to those that had to endure it).
Despite being kicked out, Tino still wanted to be a part of a club. So after mulling over the club list, he finally decided to join choir. He loves music (Especially ABBA, Metal, folk music, and 1990s pop), so he figured he might as well. Tino is a very good singer... When he's speaking his native language, Finnish. However, he struggles singing in English, and unless he knows a song by heart, he sounds almost terrible.
Everytime the school holds a festival or event, Tino volunteers to help with the preparations. He loves trying to pitch new ideas, which usually get rejected because of their strangeness, but sometimes comes up with great ideas that no one else could think up.
Sexuality: Questioning (Possibly bi or gay)
He'd never really given it much thought until recently. After realizing he's never had a girlfriend, he noticed that he's more drawn to other guys, but he's still unsure.
Personality:Despite having a rough past, Tino is a very kind, and honest person. If anything, his experiences have made him stronger and more mature. He's quite talkative, and will ramble when he's feeling nervous. He likes to be very open with himself, and others, and gets easily concerned for his friends when he notices something's wrong. He's a bit of a weirdo, but it doesn't bother him much. He's a big metal fan, which often surprises people (Though he doesn't understand why).
Background:Tino's past is nothing you'd expect from such a happy person. Growing up, both his father and mother would often abuse him, his mother more often. His father was usually kind to him, but when he got drunk he became short tempered and cruel. His mother, while seeming sweet and charming to the public, was harsh and would beat him for no reason. He had no clue that such behaviour was unusual for families, so he never questioned it until he became a teenager.
Other than his family, his life was pretty normal. He was a good student, and made friends easily. On his first day of grade 1, some local kids tried to bully him. But growing up in his family had made him very strong, and after a week of putting up with them chasing him, he set his foot down, beat them up, and they never bothered him since. He continued his schooling without any trouble.
As he got to highschool, his family problems became worse. He never told anyone about them, until one day when his mother tried to kill him. He ended up in the hospital for a few days, but recovered quickly. After he left the hospital, he lived with a friend until he was ready to move in with his dad. During that time, he felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. His mom was in prison, and his dad was seeking counselling for his drinking problem. He started seeing the world as something beautiful, instead of something to fear. After that whole incident, he felt like the happiest man alive, and became very optimistic.
Throughout his last few years of highschool he took up many new hobbies, and even joined his school's hockey team. After the incident with his mother, Tino would visit his Grandmother weekly to spend time with her. She was like the mother he always wanted, showering him with lots of love, and burnt cookies.
Currently, he's been studying hard and enjoying the school. His marks are good, and he's made a few friends. When he's alone, he likes to spend his time in the library because of how calming it is there, and because of the tons of books he can read if he gets bored.
(Oh gosh I'm sorry for how depressing the background turned out to be!! D: )
