An Interesting Meeting Empty
PostSubject: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 03, 2013 2:10 am

((Closed RP for Arthur, Alfred and Kiku. This takes place about a week after the events of Early on the Job.))

"I really ought to get a new battery for this watch," Arthur muttered to himself as he glanced at the wall clock; his own timepiece was about ten minutes slower than the one in the hall. Blast, and he still had to water the flowers and do that deadheading on that peony by the main entrance. Oh well, he mused, it shouldn't take all that long. He descended the narrow stairs that led from his apartment floor down into the green room of the Thorny Rose, a small pair of well-used shears in hand and a green glass mister tucked under his arm. Arthur was happiest when tending to the plants that decorated his club, as they were the closest thing he could get to having a garden in the middle of Soho. (Although perhaps once the weather got a little nicer, that young man Antonio wouldn't mind helping him install a greenhouse on the roof; that would be lovely to have indeed.)

He smiled to himself as he clipped the last of the spent blooms that had previously been marring the peonies (and suffocating the viable ones), a soft "There we are," escaping his lips. Checking his watch again with the time difference in mind, Arthur nodded once and headed back into the main area of the club, stowing his tools in a hidden cabinet for the time being- he could always move them back up to the apartment after his appointment with the two performers he'd asked to come in.

Arthur had called Alfred and Kiku (the latter, of course, never performed as himself, but naturally it was necessary to go through him to schedule anything with his "family") and asked them both to come in early today. Given the way Alfred had seemed to take to Kiku when they'd "met" the previous week, Arthur figured he might be able to use their apparent chemistry to his advantage. He'd seen duo performances in other clubs before, and wanted to try it with his own performers; they worked well together during rehearsal, so why not use it in a show? He could only hope they'd go for it; Alfred, he was certain, would be gung ho about the idea, while Kiku on the other hand was a different story. He had to figure out which of Kiku's characters was best suited to perform with Alfred, and which one Alfred would be most comfortable performing with. Unfortunately, this presented the rather delicate task of revealing to Alfred that Kiku was not just Kiku, but also Kaze, Nara, Nei-chan, and perhaps others in the future. Arthur rubbed his temples, frowning. This was going to be an interesting meeting indeed.

Kiku checked his appearance in the mirror for the tenth time, running his fingers through his hair. He could not afford any mistakes in his appearance this visit, though Arthur always seemed to find one. This time, Kiku was certain the blond would find no traces of his 'family' about him, no errant dyed strand of hair or rogue indent where a piercing had once graced the lobe. No...Kiku had made certain that he was, one-hundred percent Kiku Honda, head figure to the Honda family of performers at the Thorny Rose. Still, he gave his face and body a thorough examination, smiling with satisfaction when no traces of his night life could be found. Good. He could not afford mistakes. He had always done a fair job at concealing his connection to his 'family', enough at least that none of the club's patrons had taken notice (though he supposed they could be focused on other things). However, Arthur Kirkland...the club's owner...never failed to notice.

The blond had been rather observant from the start, his constant attention tempting Kiku to try to vary his 'family' more drastically. He resisted, sticking to his original concepts of them, though in the end it was not their physical similarities that gave them away, but their varying personalities. Arthur, sharp and observant, had memorized their dates, their times, and the subtle, almost invisible quirks they shared with him that attempted to hide behind more bubbly, bland, or rude outer shells. Smaller slips aided Arthur's deductions as well--a forgotten strand of pink, a mark of makeup--and after some time, in the privacy of his own home, Kiku had told Arthur the truth. Their relationship, if one could call it that, was as complex as the personae Kiku portrayed, and varied depending on who the blond demanded to see. But Arthur's knowledge, though dangerous to Kiku personally, was more a blessing than a threat. The blond scheduled Kiku to make regular appearances at the club, both in and out of his 'family' disguises. Any errant makeup or forgotten piercings became quipped observations or passing compliments, though spoken quietly like a friendly reminder.

But such mistakes were few and far between, though they most frequently occurred after Nara performed (and neither he nor Arthur wondered why). Luckily for Kiku, Nei-chan had been the most recent performer, and her last costume had not required any hair dye or excessive makeup. Still, after checking his appearance again, he made his way out of his small apartment. Arthur had called him not long ago, requesting to see him in order to go over the new lineup with him. He had agreed, warily at first (usually Arthur's calls involved 'trouble' and 'immediately') but finishing the call more relieved. Obviously, he had done nothing to his knowledge (or Kaze's) to warrant anything but Arthur reviewing the schedule with him. He suppressed the small fluttering in his stomach, shaking his head vigorously before stepping out into the wet afternoon. His relief that it was not one of THOSE meetings always came with an odd mixture of disappointment, though he knew he ought to be relieved.

He made his way down the sidewalk, the rain around him more misty than true rain. He had worn a coat, but had not thought to grab an umbrella on his way out. Soon, he found himself standing in front of the club's doors, and he removed his hands from his pockets in order to tap softly on the glass. The habit of knocking had made him look rather ridiculous on more than one occasion, but he found he could not easily enter the establishment as himself without the ritual. Of course, the door would either be unlocked or not, though to be safe he removed his phone and texted Arthur that he had arrived. His hair felt slightly damp as he ran his fingers through the strands, and he felt relieved that the mist had not soaked the raven locks.

Fuck...one thing he could never get used to was the shitty weather. It was bad enough that he had a really early shift at the hospital which cut down on his sleep time. Then Artie had told him to come to the club early after his shift at the hospital since there was something he wanted to discuss. The weather had changed drastic from cold to rainy and cold. Not a good combination as far as Alfred is concerned. Shaking the water off his jacket, he headed to the door and saw Kiku there using his phone " Kiku? Why don't you just go in. I'm sure the door isn't locked." Just to prove he was right, Alfred reached out and turned the knob showing that it was indeed unlocked.

He had no idea why Arthur wanted to see the two of them. All he could think of was the fact that his friendship with Kiku was getting off at a good start.. as well as his attraction to him. Alfred didn't think he was that obvious with his attraction but then again, he knew he was rather oblivious to things which were happening around him.

Grabbing a towel from the bar, he started to use it to clean the water off his glasses since he couldn't  very well see without them. " So do you have any idea why Artie told us to come in so early? He usually doesn't bother to have meetings... well with me anyway I know he discusses stuff with you "

Kiku jumped a bit, startled by Alfred's sudden arrival. The rain had picked up considerably, and he could only assume that he had simply been oblivious to Alfred's approach because of it. He quietly pocketed his phone after checking that his message had sent. He recalled that Arthur's watch had recently stopped working, and though it had been a little while since their last meeting, Kiku was uncertain whether the blond had found the time to fix it. He also felt it courteous to inform Arthur of his arrival, since (as far as Alfred knew) he was merely an occasional visitor to the club, rather than one of Arthur's employees. It was best to keep up his facade, though he did find it unusual that both he and Alfred were being summoned to meet Arthur before club hours. He himself would think very little of such a call, though the only oddity this time was that Kaze had not performed the previous night.

"Ah, Alfred-san...I ah, simply did not wish to intrude...I am not an employee here as you are..." He was rather grateful that Alfred had discovered the unlocked door, as the air had become chilly. He stepped into the club, standing aside to allow Alfred to enter as well. He noticed the way the blond's hair stuck to his head, plastered there by the rain. Had Alfred forgotten to bring an umbrella as well? A stray droplet of water drew his attention, and he followed it as it traced the blond's cheek. Quickly, he glanced away, not wishing to be caught staring. It was not as if he had not seen Alfred (in far less, even) before. But technically HE had only glimpsed Alfred, or in the case of last week, met him for a brief time. His family had the pleasure of admiring Alfred as he performed, and if he were honest with himself, Kiku envied them. Of course, he was essentially them, but their position allowed them to become close to the blond...far closer than he himself would ever come, at least without revealing his identities.

He followed Alfred over to the bar area, a little less uncomfortable with being in the club while in the presence of the other blond. He took a seat on one of the stools lining the bar, watching as Alfred cleaned his glasses. Even the blond's look of concentration made him wish that their relationship (if one could call meeting someone once) was more than that of just 'employee-to-secret-employee-but-mostly-stranger'. He glanced down as Alfred replaced his glasses on his nose, then returned his gaze to the blond. In truth, he had no idea why Arthur wished to speak to them. If Arthur had simply called him, he would have assumed the meeting would have to do with Kaze...or to discuss his family's performance schedule. Never before had Arthur called both himself and another employee to meet. Arthur was well aware of his secret, and how very much he wanted to keep it so.

"I am...truthfully unsure, Alfred-san. If it were just you, I would assume he would wish to speak to you about your performance schedule, or something of the like, since you are a regular performer here. As for me, he is usually ah, speaking to me about my various family members that perform here." He gave Alfred a weak smile. The blond would have to be completely oblivious not to have heard Arthur refer to Nei-chan, Kaze, Nara, and Ai as his 'siblings' or 'cousins'. "However..." He trailed off, a small sigh leaving his lips. Why DID Arthur wish to speak to both of them? "I suppose we will simply have to wait for Kirkland-san himself to answer that question." He shifted a little in his seat, not quite feeling comfortable enough to settle without Arthur's presence. It was one of the subtle things he did to distinguish himself from his 'family', though as far as he knew Alfred was unaware of his multiple personae at the club.

PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeMon Jul 22, 2013 1:27 am

A low staccato vibration suddenly tickled Arthur's thigh through his pocket, and he reached in to slip out the slim iPhone, scowling at it before he unlocked it and managed to get the message Kiku'd sent him onto the little screen, the green speech bubble staring at him and reminding him what time it was. Kiku was early, as per usual, but he wondered whether Alfred had arrived yet. He sent a quick text back to Kiku that he'd be right there, and shoved the device back into his pocket before striding towards the green room door.

As he approached the dining area, Arthur could hear two distinct voices, and nodded to himself in approval. He was glad they'd both come on time, though he wasn't surprised. From the tone he could surmise they probably weren't sure why they'd both been summoned, though he'd clear that up for them soon enough. "Honda, Jones, thank you both for coming," he greeted as he entered from the stage area, inwardly feeling bad that the apparent rain had seemed to catch the both of them. "I do apologise for the late notice. Won't you both join me in the VIP room?" His reasoning for choosing said room was because it was quieter there, and they wouldn't be disturbed during pre-show hours in case their meeting ran long. Some of the other employees would also be coming in within the next couple of hours to set up, so the room set aside for private parties was the most practical place.

PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeSun Jul 28, 2013 1:37 am

The VIP room? Well this seemed like it could be pretty serious. Artie usually never brought anyone there unless he didn't want to be disturbed with whatever he wanted to say or do. Sure during the shows these rooms were rented out to people who wanted privacy. During the day however no one came in here. He tried checking the expressions of Kiku and Artie but they were pretty unreadable. Giving a shrug he made his way there and plunked himself down on the plush seating provided. The room was really done up to the max.. Alfred wouldn't mind sneaking in here when no one was around to take a nap or something. These chairs were just so comfortable. He was abit disappointed he didn't find that out sooner.

" So what did ya wanna see us about gramps?"  Alfred hoped that it wasn't because Artie wanted to fire him. That shouldn't be the case though since Alfred did bring in alot of the clients who wanted a broader more muscled sort of body figure then the slim pretty ones Artie had performing in the place already. Not that there was anything wrong with slim pretty males, Alfred himself found them really attractive its more that customers always had different tastes.

He petted the spot beside him indicating Kiku should sit down next to him. He really did like the japanese male even if he was rather quiet. " Could you make this quick aswell? I'm sorta totally drenched here and the last thing I wanna do is to sit here in my wet things, then get sick later on. You will totally be without a performer if that happens" That and he was pretty sure alot of the men who do come and see him perform would be greatly disappointed.

An Interesting Meeting Empty
PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeTue Jul 30, 2013 2:16 am

Kiku reached to retrieve his phone as the thing vibrated in his pocket. Ah, a reply text from Arthur--he couldn't help the small smile that touched his lips. Arthur was as formal in his text messages as he was in person, though the autocorrect on his iPhone occasionally created unintentionally humorous responses to his texts. He nodded and replaced his phone in his pocket, giving Alfred an apologetic smile. "Kirkland-san replied that he would be coming shortly." He let his gaze travel around the room, nervousness tickling the back of his thoughts. He truly had no idea as to why Arthur had called both himself and Alfred to the club before hours, though he could only assume the reasons were not good. However, he could not fathom why Arthur would call them both in. He had yet to perform a set with Alfred as anyone but Nei-chan, and that had occurred when another performer phoned in sick and no replacement could be found. Still, if it were something Nei-chan had done incorrectly, Arthur would have reminded him to show up as Nei-chan. Arthur guarded his 'family' secret as carefully as Kiku himself did, so he could not imagine Arthur simply forgetting to mention something so important.

He turned, nodding his head in greeting as Arthur entered the room. He attempted to meet the blond's emerald gaze, hoping to perhaps gain an indicator as to why he had been summoned. But he could not hold Arthur's gaze long enough, and he found nothing there or in the blond's tone to indicate whether their meeting would be positive or negative. With another nod, he simply followed behind Alfred as the blond made his way to the VIP room. To combat the nervous fluttering in his stomach, Kiku focused on the way the small blond hairs near the nape of Alfred's neck fluttered as the blond walked. The golden strands looked feather soft, and for a moment he wondered if they tickled Alfred's neck if the blond bent his head a certain way. A small bead of condensation clung to one of them, wobbling a little before sliding down Alfred's neck. Kiku had forgotten that Alfred had been caught in the sudden downpouring of rain. The water made Alfred's shirt cling to him, defining his frame beneath the fabric...and making the blond look even more handsome. Embarrassed to be thinking such things, he quickly shoved the thought from his head as they entered the VIP room. He did not need the blond to catch him staring and ask him to explain himself!

He stood awkwardly for a moment as Alfred plunked himself down on one of the many couches, nervously glancing from the seated blond to Arthur and back again. Was he supposed to sit with Alfred, or did Arthur have other plans? He tried to catch Arthur's eye and to silently communicate with him, but the blond's expression was still unreadable. He inwardly tried to calm his nerves, which only seemed to worsen as the minutes dragged on. Why had Arthur called them both into the VIP room? Did the blond have some sort of request of both of them? 'But if Arthur wanted for us to perform together, he would have asked Nei-chan, or Nara...doubtful that he would consider Kaze, but he would have at least asked the performer by name. But if he is calling the both of us into this more private room, does that mean...he has noticed Alfred's attention on me and wants to address it? Does he not approve of it...or is he concerned that Alfred will discover the 'family' secret?' He doubted Arthur's motives were protective, though he knew the blond was capable of protecting his secret. Still, the vague request for a meeting in the VIP room made Kiku continue to consider all of his nerve-filled thoughts.

His attention returned to Alfred, and a shy smile touched his lips as he moved to sit next to the blond. His gaze darted to Arthur's own, but when the blond made no objection, he settled more comfortably against the couch (and closer to Alfred). He gave Alfred what he hoped was a reassuring smile, while wondering if the other blond was as nervous as he. The slight shaking of Alfred's shoulders caught his attention, and a sympathetic frown touched his lips. He wanted to offer the blond some form of warmth (he knew there were a few things that could help hidden in the room), but other than his own clothing (or his own body heat, the thought of which sent some pink to his cheeks) he could do nothing. Offering Alfred a blanket or a towel would arouse suspicion, since only his family members were seen in this part of the club. He could always excuse it as something Arthur had shown to him before, but Arthur's meetings with him had never taken place in the VIP room due to other club activities happening simultaneously.

Sighing noiselessly, he turned his attention to Arthur, indicating that he was listening. The sooner the blond revealed his purpose for calling them into the meeting, the sooner Alfred could change his clothes. He merely nodded in Arthur's direction, rather than voicing his question as Alfred had done. Arthur would reveal the reason for their meeting soon enough, though the wait did not stop the nervous butterflies from continuing their flight in his stomach. 'Everything will be fine...and once I am done here, I will return home and prepare for this evening. Alfred-san will be able to change, and Arthur will...hopefully have no further need to speak to me about family matters...' The last thought sent a small touch of disappointment through him, but he pushed it away, continuing to gaze at Arthur curiously.

PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeFri Nov 29, 2013 9:19 pm

He nodded politely as the two took their seats (close to one another, he had to notice), and sat himself on the edge of the stage opposite, facing them. The light tremor in Alfred's broad shoulders did not escape his notice, and Arthur couldn't help the pang of sympathy that drew the corners of his mouth slightly downwards. "I do apologise for the short notice, and for the dreadful weather," he said simply, betraying a note of caring. He stood once again and moved to one of the walls, where a hidden panel opened to reveal a small pile of neatly folded plush towels,  from which he took two. "Do you still have that extra change of clothes in your locker, Jones?" was his query as he handed the two men each a towel. After all, he couldn't have two of his best performers falling ill. That, and Jones was a student as well as working; it wouldn't do for him to be sick with so much going on in his life (And Arthur would be lying if he said he didn't worry about the boy from time to time).

Taking his seat once again on the edge of he stage, Arthur crossed his legs at the knee and leaned his elbows on them, his fingers tented. "Now, I realise I didn't give an indication as to why I wanted you both to meet with me today," he stated the obvious, having taken in their looks of confusion. "About three weeks ago, as you both know, Ivy called in sick and as a result Nei-chan was called in on short notice- and once again please let her know I apologise for such short notice, Honda- to do a joint performance with you, Jones." He spoke evenly and fluidly, speaking of Nei-chan as though she were not in the room. He waited a moment, leaning forward, and an excited glint flashed through his eyes as he continued. "I have had more requests for joint performances in the last three weeks than have been received at any time since this club opened. And," he paused again to let the information sink in more, "as one of the top performers-" (a nod to Alfred) "-and the manager of several other top performers," (a nod to Kiku) "I have called you here because I would like to arrange to satisfy those requests."

PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeWed Dec 04, 2013 8:35 am

Change of clothes? Did he even manage to replace the ones he had in here before? No.. he didn't think so, a customer managed to grab hold of him as he was leaving recognising him as the dancer on stage and started to get frisky, As a result that set of clothing was actually torn in several places. Alfred never had the time or the memory to replace the set. " I don't think i actually replaced that set. The ones I had before got ruined" He was very aware of the heat radiating from the male next to him. Alfred wanted more then anything to press closer to it but it wasn't exactly the right time or place for that. He never really got the chance to know Kiku properly other then the rare moments like this where they just happen to be in the same room. It was a pity really... pretty males was totally his type.

Alfred accepted the towel Arthur handed him gratefully and started to undo his shirt leaving it open so he could get the water off it before starting on his hair giving him a very ruffled I just got out of bed after a wild night of romping appearance. He paused in his actions however when he heard what Arthur finally brought them in for. Now he really didn't mind a joint performance, this was a quick and very easy way to bring in tons of cash just for that performance alone. He could see why Arthur wanted to do it. Being his assistant for the time he had been working here along as a performer. He more or less knew how the brit's mind worked. There was a problem with this duo though. Nei chan was known for innocent performances, that was mealy a tease without even showing an inch of skin. It was classy and beautiful and alot of customers were lured by that mysterious aura she carried. Alfred's performance on the other hand was meant to get a reaction. To make the customers all hot and bothered they would pay the extra fee just to have a few minutes to talk to him. It was wild and sexual with its focus on nothing more then the lure of having a wild night in the sheets with him. How would the both of them actually make it work? Their performances and types of customers were a totally different range.

Leaning himself back against the couch, he rested his arm along the top of the back rest. His fingers lightly touching Kiku's shoulder. " as great of an idea that is artie, you forget one big detail. Nei chan doesn't do the kind of performances I do. She's more of a mystery then what I am." A teasing smirk tugged on his lips as he watched Arthur carefully fully aware he was still more or less half dressed and Arties reactions was always fun " And you know what I'm all about.. there is not one man or woman in my crowd who wouldn't pay to sleep with me if they could"

An Interesting Meeting Empty
PostSubject: Re: An Interesting Meeting   An Interesting Meeting I_icon_minitimeTue Dec 17, 2013 11:38 pm

Kiku gave Arthur another small nod, indicating silently that he understood. This was not the first time the infamously rainy London had made traveling to the club a cold experience, and it was partially his own fault for not preparing better. He accepted the towel from Arthur with a soft 'thank you', wrapping it around his shoulders and clutching it closed like a blanket. The heat in the club was slowly beginning to dry his clothes, but the towel helped him retain what little heat had not escaped. He glanced over at Alfred as Arthur mentioned a change of clothes, a worried frown touching his lips as Alfred mentioned the ripped clothing. Perhaps he could offer his...or Nei-chan's assistance in repairing the torn garments. He would have even offered him one of his--or his family's--spare pieces of clothing, but he was not entirely sure admitting to know where things were wouldn't arouse suspicion. He noted out of the corner of his eye, the same small frown of worry tugging at Arthur's lips. Despite seeming to disappear for long periods of time, Arthur truly cared about his employees. Kiku could attest to that, though never aloud of course. But he found it amusing (though admittedly professional) how Arthur tended to hide his concern from his employees.

His thoughts came to an abrupt stop as Alfred began to unbutton his shirt. A flush sprang to his cheeks, and politeness told him to look away and to focus on Arthur again. But he could not tear his gaze away, even as Alfred began drying his hair. The ruffled look suited the blond, an easy reminder as to why Alfred was one of the top performers in the club. The blond had natural good looks, and though Kiku himself was not supposed to know, a good and genuine personality to match. Most customers cared little for the latter, but Kiku found it made Alfred all the more endearing. He quickly averted his gaze, hoping that Alfred had not noticed him staring. He instead settled for politely glancing across at Arthur, waiting for the blond to reveal the reason for their summons. He subtly leaned a little closer to the blond, as he waited for Arthur to continue.

He nodded in acknowledgement as Arthur mentioned Nei-chan's last-minute performance. The customers had been expecting Ivy, but they seemed to respond equally well to Nei-chan even though their performing styles differed. He had only been thankful that others in his 'family' had not performed the night before, or else Nei-chan would have to explain to the customers why she sported bright streaks of dye in her hair. However, he suspected their responses had been mainly due to her performing partner, Alfred. The wilder, riskier style had brought out a slightly bolder side in Nei-chan, though she still was able to remain traditional and had kept her clothing on. Their performance brought in the most money that night, and when she had returned to socialize with customers, many had asked her rather...personal questions about her and Alfred. Of course, she managed to give them vague, teasing answers, though the blush dusting her cheeks had been genuine. Kiku knew that Nei-chan (and himself of course) had a small crush on Alfred, and would love the chance to perform with the blond again.

However, their performance styles were vastly different, and thus, the clients they attracted were also different. Their combined performance the first time had boiled down to luck and their skills in improvising, but could they still be as attractive while working from a set performance? Kiku thought to voice his concerns to Arthur, though he suspected the blond had already thought of them. However, those thoughts only served to raise more questions. Did Arthur have another plan for them? If he wished to have Nei-chan perform with Alfred, he would need to eventually call her in. Perhaps Arthur simply expected that Nei-chan would be fine, even if Kiku simply 'instructed' her (she would, but Alfred would not know that). He gave Arthur a curious but worried look, but before he could voice his concerns, he felt fingers brushing against his shoulder. He flinched a little, but relaxed as he recalled his proximity to Alfred. A light flush dusted his cheeks, but he refrained from glancing over to the blond seated next to him. If he did not call attention to himself, Alfred might not notice.

Alfred's words echoed his thoughts, and so Kiku nodded in agreement. However, he did trust Arthur's judgement and organization skills. The club owner had yet to make any mistakes detrimental to his own business, and surely Arthur had thought this idea through. However, his curiosity begged him to ask Arthur for more information. "Kirkland-san, I do not mean to be so forward, but did you have something in particular in mind?" He gave the blond an apologetic smile, tugging the towel a little tighter around himself. The warm air in the club was helping to dry his clothes, though occasionally he still found himself shivering. He could not tell if it was from the dampness, or the foreboding feeling that something was about to happen.
