Matthew trudged down the sidewalk wearily, sighing. He'd spent the entire day walking around looking for a job, to no avail. He knew that it was because he had trouble smiling when he talked, and sometimes he didn't look his interviewers in the eye, and they wrote him off as a lost cause. He wanted to try, he really did. It was just too hard to open up. All these places wanted some charismatic person to join their "family", and Matthew barely knew what a family was.

His stomach clenched uncomfortably, reminding him he hadn't eaten today. He groaned and looked around at the surrounding establishments, wondering if they were out of his price range (which wasn't very much). Grumbling, he dug through his pockets and counted his change. He might have enough for a small salad or something. There was no way he was going to wander around for another hour or so looking for a less expensive option.

Matthew noticed the building he stood in front of now was pretty modest, covered in ivy with flowers in the windows. Probably some kind of restaurant. Though "The Thorny Rose" didn't seem like a typical restaurant name. Noting the sign about identification, he assumed it was some kind of pub instead. He walked through the doors and looked confused at what looked like an empty lounge area, and then moved to the next door. Was it a restaurant then?

Finally inside the main area, Matthew suddenly felt way out of place. The decor of the restaurant- pub- whatever it was, was very fancy, and Matthew wasn't even dressed for a place like this. He glanced at the bar and had a fleeting urge to buy something to drink- he needed one. But then his stomach reminded him that that was the dumbest idea ever. He looked around aimlessly, the place was kind of empty, probably because the sun didn't set for another hour or two.

A hand dropped onto Matthew’s shoulder. “Are you lost, little boy~?” Francis teased, noticing how misplaced the blond appeared. He blinked, suddenly noticing how familiar said blond hair looked – it almost reminded him of Alfred’s, though the slight wave and inch difference in length set it apart somewhat. And then as the younger man turned and Francis caught sight of lavender eyes, a name came to his tongue as his mind remembered the boy before he even did. “Matthieu?” He searched his brain, trying to recall where he knew this boy from – and then it hit him. This was the shy, timid boy who had barely stayed on as a waiter at the café for a month before suddenly leaving. Francis suspected the job had been too much for him, having stuck-up businessman barking orders at him and yelling every time the food wasn’t perfectly suited to their tastes. It wasn’t Matthew’s fault though, he’d just had the worst luck in only getting assigned to the most pretentious and supercilious of the café’s customers – if it had been Francis, he would have quit too.

“Matthieu! Matthieu Williams, oui? Bonjour! Je ne vous t'ai pas vu depuis un long moment!” He recalled having lengthy conversations in French with the timid boy who, despite claiming he only knew “a little bit” from “what he remembered from high school”, spoke much more fluently than any public school French class could teach. “Nous devons rattraper! Laisse moi te payer une boisson.” Without waiting for an answer, he placed his hand on Matthew’s lower back and led him towards the bar, sitting him down on one of the stools. “Vous buvez, non? Que voulez-vous?”

His eyes drifted down, noticing how plain the clothes Matthew wore were, and raised an eyebrow. Either he was unaware of exactly what sort of establishment he had walked into, or these were the fanciest clothes he could afford. After all, just because one in a strip club didn’t mean one shouldn’t dress nice. Clearly Matthew needed some sort of guidance, at least in his fashion sense, and Francis was more than eager to offer his advice.

Matthew jumped a foot when he felt a hand on his shoulder, quickly turning around to see who was behind him. At first he didn't recognize him, and simply looked startled when he said his name. "I..." He shook his head and stopped short when the man suddenly switched to French, and suddenly he remembered who he was. "...Francis?" He said the name cautiously, hoping he was right. Francis had been the only one at that cafe who would speak to him, even though he typically shied away from their conversations instinctively. The man never seemed to care and conversed with him regardless.

Flustered, he allowed Francis to lead him to the bar, hesitating at his offer of a drink. He didn't know Francis all that well, but from the time he had known him, he seemed nicer than most people. Matthew decided it couldn't hurt to attempt being social, he might actually have a friend for once if he did it right.

"Yes.. um... oui..." Matthew blushed just a bit, he was always self-conscious about his French, of course it was almost the only thing he had ever passed with flying colors back in school, but he never felt like he quite got it down anyway. "Ah, I uh... Q-quoi que vous buvez..." He replied softly and shrugged, feeling a bit like he was imposing. Despite being hard off, he always felt nervous about accepting any kind of charity, and as he noticed Francis' judgmental glance at his clothing, he was sure that's what it was.

"J...J'ai été au chômage pendant un certain temps..." Matthew explained a bit defensively. He glanced away nervously, again taking in the sleek decor of the place. He did feel out of place here. But maybe that was his problem. Perhaps working at cafes and small stores was why he could only afford those type of places (if any), it could be time for him to try for a better job, in a fancy place like this. He wondered how much better the waiters and such got paid here. "Um... Savez-vous s'ils embauchent ici?" He looked to Francis again and asked tentatively; the man did seem to be kind of familiar with the place, but he wasn't sure.

Feliciano sighed, setting down the spatula and stepping away from the stove. The kitchen was still relatively quiet, though soon the rest of the cooks would show up to help him cover the busiest hours. He couldn't help but feel relief at this, especially since one of the regular servers (thankfully not Antonio or Yao) had called in sick. Unfortunately for him, it was the server that was supposed to help him cover the floor before Yao or Antonio came to help, which meant that he not only had to kitchen prep by himself, but also to serve any customers who happened to wander in early. He did not truly mind serving, but he did dislike dividing his attention between two tasks that usually required attention to detail. Still, he had promised Arthur that he would help serve if necessary, and the blond had not argued that he would not be suitable for the job.

With another sigh, he removed his cooking apron, hanging it on one of the many pegs by the door. He grabbed one of the serving aprons, one he kept specifically in the back (when not laundering it) in cases such as this. He needed to at least walk the floor, in case anyone had wandered in without any of the bartenders or other servers noticing. The staff tended to be light around this time, though the light staff often was appropriate for the amount of guests they had. Still, part of him wished that at least one of the other usual servers would show up soon, so that he could return to his haven in the kitchen. Some nights were far more demanding than others in terms of prep, especially on nights where he needed to take inventory. 'I'll just have to do it later tonight, and get the list to Arthur as soon as possible. I'm sure he'd understand...' He hoped the blond would understand, though Arthur had yet to give him a hard time about when he turned over the lists.

As he exited the kitchen area into the main area, he noticed immediately two guests sitting at the bar. One he recognized as a regular, a rather picky individual in terms of food. Feliciano always made certain to personally work on the blond's dish, in case any problems arose. While harsh criticisms of his cooking didn't make him happy, he felt it was his responsibility to deal with any such problems. He let his gaze travel to the bar's other occupant, but no particular name or face popped into his head. He did not know every single guest, but he did recognize the regulars that frequented the club. 'Is he new? Ah, I guess it doesn't matter!' He would need to serve him either way, at least if the two wanted food. If they wanted something from the bar, he would have to call Arthur...or Yao...or Lukas. Though he was competent in the kitchen, he was far from trained to create drinks.

He approached the two, making sure that his footsteps would be heard. He did not want to interrupt their conversation, but he also did not want to keep them waiting any longer if they wished to order. He grabbed two menus from the host station, carrying them in his arms to the bar area. "Ciao, and welcome to the Thorny Rose! I hope I haven't kept you two waiting long. My name is Feliciano, and I'll be taking care of you today~!" He gave Francis and the other blond a sweet smile, the words completely void of their usual double meaning. Feliciano was a cook and server, not a performer...though he was still required to use the customary greetings. He set the menus down beside each blond. "If you're hungry, I'll be happy to take your order and have it up right away!"

((I'M SO SORRY THIS POST IS...ak;sjdfkljasdfl DON'T MIND FELI *hides* If any of the other club employees want to jump in too (like Yao or Arthur or Lukas...etc.) I didn't want Feli to take like, the only job and he can always just go back to cooking too XD))

Taking a deep breath in as he stood across the street from what used to be the busiest pub in Soho, Dylan Kirkland started patting himself down to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything while rushing out his hotel in anticipation to see his favorite cousin. Luckily he had enough mind to pick up his briefcase and a coat, for the country was always a tad chilly, even when the sun was shining high. He had to admit that Arthur had done a good job restoring the building, well, as far as one could tell from the outside. Still, the young man had to mentally prepare himself in case human interaction was an inevitable consequence. Settling with a stoic, if not somewhat angry face so that he could brush people off with a few quick words.

Having come to his decision the man walked across the street and stopped in front of the front door, wondering what type of establishment his cousin had renovated the old building into because there didn't seem to be much business at this time. "How, odd..." But it was outside his thought as Dylan finally pushed the door open and strode inside, marvel lighting up his face as lightning does the stormy sky. "Rhyfeddol!" Realizing he had practically shouted his nonsense out at the other patrons, and what seemed like a cook, the young man cleared his throat and attempted to salvage his mask, though the cracks were showing pretty early.

Deciding a direct approach in order after such a horrendous first impression the young man walked up to the guy he thought was the cook, a young Italian if he could guess and cleared his throat again, attempting to look impatient. "ExcusemebutisthereanywaythatyouknowwhereArthuris?" With an internal kick Dylan just looked at the chef and started again, in a less rushed tone. "Hey kid, do you know where Arthur Kirkland happens to be? I have business with him that can't wait." This was the approach that he was hoping for, something slightly threatening but not terribly rude. Earning himself a passive smile the young Kirkland kept looking at the chef, feeling hot around the collar when he realized that he probably just interrupted a conversation between the three males that were previously stationed around the bar.

Francis’ eyebrows raised in surprise, and his small, charming smile transformed into a wide, teasing grin. “Oh là là! Vous avez besoin d'un emploi mal? C'est un choix extrême. ” Thoughvaguely aware of how heartbreaking Matthew’s desperate question was, Francis couldn’t help the slight sneer that came onto his face at such a ridiculous idea. Innocent little Matthew working at a strip club? He could barely think of the idea! Barely. Though once you got him started, and maybe after a few glasses of wine...

He shook his head, chuckling a little before finally composing himself and looking into blond's eyes seriously with an almost fatherly sternness.
“Ils sont d'embauche, mais...Ce n'est pas un endroit pour vous, mon cher.”

He startled slightly when Feliciano suddenly flew out of the kitchen with his usual buoyancy. Francis returned the cook’s beam with a smile of his own, barely glancing at the menu before ordering. Feliciano already knew which items he liked and which he hated - Francis had sampled everything on the menu at least twice. The two of them had an almost love-hate relationship, as Francis could be rather rude if it came to bad food, but when he did taste something he truly enjoyed he became all praise and compliments. “Surprends moi~”

It was only once he saw the confused expression on the Italian’s face that he realized he was still speaking French. He hastily switched over, embarrassed, and fumbled trying to remember the English equivalent. “I mean…e…surprise me. And what-” He turned to Matthew to finish their conversation but was once more interrupted by the rather loud appearance of another man.

Upon hearing his question to Feli, Francis clicked his tongue. “Tch. Good luck finding ‘im.” Francis tossed his hair, slightly annoyed. “I’ve been ‘ere a couple monzs and I’ve still yet to ‘ave one decent conversation wiz Arzur.” He noticed with interest the blush starting to creep up around the newcomer’s face, and suddenly his frustration with Arthur didn’t matter so much anymore. “But per’aps I can ‘elp you~?”

Fuck.. so his plans for getting here way early sorta failed but it wasn't his fault that the dude in charge of him today was a total asshole. It didn't help that the patient he was doing the check up on was completely forgetful and kept telling him to take his blood pressure. Alfred had lost count the amount of times he had to do it before he tricked another intern to doing it, making his escape. His costume had gotten a rip last night when a customer was getting abit to frisky with him. He thought that maybe if he got to the place in time someone would be able to fix it before his actual performance tonight. Well.. maybe he could still be lucky and hit jackpot.

Busting into the place he scanned the area in hopes of someone who would actually help him or.. know how to sew in general. Oh why did he zone out when Artie was going on and on .... did he mention ON about sewing and how proper men knew how to sew. He spotted a familiar face at the bar and went towards him at once " Franny you gotta help, my costume is sorta busted and I haven't been able to get anyone to fix it just yet. Artie will haunt me with his eyebrows if I don't have it ready by tonight" It was then and only then he notice the two other people who were there whom.. he had no clue about. He recognised the italian from around he never got a chance to talk to him though. Feliciano was his name if he recalled.. Back to the new dudes.. he forgot to mention one of them had rather massive eyebrows.. holy shit.. did Artie's brows spring out and actually mated with another set of brows? Man.. that's like gotta be the end of the world or something like that. The other was around the same height as him with wavy soft hair and the most unusual pair of violet eyes... violet.. now that was interesting not to mention appealing.

" Artie? Hes.. might in his office or.. cave however you wanna call it. Dunno he never comes out all too often unless its to nag at one of us. Why are you looking for him. Oh I'm Alfred in case you were wondering" he grinned at the both of them before waving at Feliciano " Hey hows the job so far? I never really got a chance to chat to ya yet"

( Props if anyone actually knows where I got that patient from. Hint its an adventure game XD )

Matthew opened his mouth as if to reply, furrowing his brows when he noticed the look on Francis' face. What the other man felt as amusement, Matthew saw only as a haughty sneer. What did he mean? 'It wasn't the place for him'? Was he saying that Matthew wasn't cut out for it? It was true though, he thought, giving the restaurant another glance. Though he was still oblivious to the true nature of the establishment, he knew it was out of his league. Probably another place that filled up with snotty businessmen who would push him around for a few days before he got fired.

At the sudden appearance of another person, Matthew's mouth snapped shut. It wasn't like there was anything else to say. And he felt slightly embarrassed to continue his French in the presence of a stranger anyway. He dropped his gaze at the cheerful greeting, kind of wishing he'd simply walked past the place. At the mention of being hungry his stomach clenched a bit, reminding him why he hadn't walked by, and he shook his head vaguely with a sigh. He probably couldn't afford a glass of water here.

Matthew startled at a sudden exclamation he couldn't make out, and someone else walked in. He subconsciously leaned a bit closer to Francis as they came over, and not long after another guy walked in, coming up to Francis familiarly. Matthew seemed to sort of shrink into himself defensively as he approached, not minding the interruption - for some reason being interrupted had never bothered him, he was the type of person who rarely lost his train of thought, and he was very patient. He did feel rude not saying anything as the blond introduced himself though, so he forced a murmured
"Matthew..."

Feliciano gave Francis a cheery smile, taking his menu once the blond had finished looking at it. "Si, I'll do that, Francis!" Though he had not understood the French, the context (and translation) had helped. Francis frequented the club enough that Feliciano became used to the man speaking far more French than English, which did not bother him except when he could not tell what Francis wanted of him. This proved most problematic whenever Francis disliked something, particularly some of the food dishes. Feliciano had worked to fine tune the menu since his first days working in the kitchen, and though nothing he himself cooked could compare to the complexities found in French cuisine, he had still found at least a few items (unfortunately not French) that were pleasing to Francis' palate. The time it took him to find those things though, was a rather frustrating one for the young Italian. He was not a professional chef (Francis probably knew), and so his intuition in the kitchen had never been fine tuned. Still, he never made such an excuse to his customer. Instead, he was careful to learn about the club's more picky clients, and to purposefully take measures to serve them himself.

'W-Wow, the club is never this popular at this time of day! Maybe I should call Arthur and ask him if he wants anyone else to come in to cover the floor so I can go back to cooking. That might be best, since Francis is here and if his food isn't perfect he sort of throws a fit, and I really don't think that would be such a good thing in front of the other customer.' He turned to face the other blond, about to ask him if he had decided yet or if he needed more time, when another man approached him. He instinctively took a step back, away from both the bar and from the advancing strawberry-blond man with vaguely familiar (and distinct) eyebrows. A relative of Arthur's perhaps? Feliciano tried to put his cheerful smile back on his face, but failed miserably as the blond spoke in a rush.

"ExcusemebutisthereanywaythatyouknowwhereArthuris?"

He took another nervous step back, about to ask the man to repeat himself when the man did just that. "Ve...well, he's usually up in his office right about now..." In truth, Feliciano had no idea where Arthur was, aside from where the blond would most likely be. He was about to tell the strawberry blond this when Francis interjected his own comments into the conversation. Feliciano couldn't help but feel a little relieved. The strawberry blond had been rather intimidating, and as his bad luck would have it, the club bouncers wouldn't arrive until later that night. Still, as soon as he took the order of the other blond seated at the bar, he could retreat into the kitchen for a bit and work on preparing their meals. He could always call Arthur from the back, though he supposed he ought to offer that option to the newcomer before he went back.

Before he could say anything, another voice made him jump. He turned, his nervous frown instantly melting into a warm smile as he waved. "Ciao Alfred! It's wonderful to see you!" He gave the blond a once-over, before meeting his gaze. Feliciano knew Alfred through the blond's love of food, which he was more than happy to make for him. "Ve, the job's going really well! You and all of the customers here make me feel right at home!" He beamed at the blond, meaning every word. Despite the hard time he received from Francis, Feliciano felt the kitchen, and the club's regulars and employees, were like a second family to him. "It's okay, I know how busy you are. We'll just have to set aside some time to talk soon, si?" He laughed, then held out the free menu to Alfred. "Did you want anything to eat? I can always whip up one of your favorites."

He then recalled Alfred asking Francis for help sewing. Feliciano couldn't sew, but he knew a few people that could. "Ve..." He turned nervously to the strawberry blond, "I'm sorry, but I can call Arthur for you and let him know you would like to see him right away. If I give him your name, maybe he'll come down faster...if he's upstairs..." The upstairs was off limits, locked down tight except to those who possessed a key. He turned to Alfred, his smile returning. "I can always call Nei-chan...one of them should be able to come and help you before the show, if you'd like!" Feliciano would have offered to call Anabel, the club's seamstress, but he did not know her number. He knew Nei-chan only because the kind woman had filled in for him once in the kitchen, when he had caught a pretty nasty cold. He turned to Francis, smiling apologetically. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Francis. I'll go back and start your meal." He turned to the blond--Matthew--offering him a kind smile. "Would you like something to eat? If it's not on the menu and you'd like it, I can try to make it for you."

((NOOOO ALFRED HOW COULD YOU THAT QUESTION IS GOING TO DRIVE ME NUTS ALL DAAAAY *sobs forever* <3 Also, Francis...we should totally backstory that epic 'Francis-is-a-picky-customer' stuff together, so we don't end up accidentally writing in stuff about each others character's reactions and all that jazz XD And Feli's thoughts here on Francis throwing a fit if his food isn't right is just Feli's overactive imagination...and his being all adorably nervous and all that, so don't mind him~))

Yao entered the club through the back door, wanting to spend some time in the back before hand to take stock on the liquor in the back. The last thing he needed was to run out of vodka or whatever when he had orders to fill and nothing stored in the back. That would lead to pissed off customers and Arthur on his back about why the rum was gone. The last thing he needed was Bushy Brows getting on his case. Not that Yao didn’t like Arthur, the guy gave Yao a job even though he was a complete stranger to England, but his “just so” personality could grate on anyone’s nerves, but it was also better than an owner who didn’t give a shit. Yao had seen one too many business owners drive their businesses on the brink of failure because they didn’t care about the business. A perfectionist Arthur could be, but he made sure the bar was stocked with whatever Yao needed. It wasn’t amazing but pretty damn good, all things considered. To say the least, Yao could always say he met interesting people in his current line of work.

Everything looked in order as Yao put his notepad up in the liquor storage room that had current counts of everything in there. Swiftly he went to the employee break room where he grabbed his server apron off the wall, trying it snuggly around his waist. In his rush and preoccupation with the liquor, Yao began to realize that there were voices coming from the club. Strange. It was still early for so many customers to be here.

However, when Yao opened the door into the club he only saw a group of blondes at the bar, he recognized as Francis because he was a regular and Alfred because he worked here. The other a he thought looked a little out of place, the one Francis was hanging over and seemed quite shy, and the other was equally shy although a bit flustered and reminded him a bit of his boss. Then there was Feliciano standing there with his notepad taking orders. While Feli may have been good in the kitchen, it was part of Yao’s job to be good with the booze. If Francis was his usual self he’ll want either a glass of wine or a cocktail of some sort once that food comes out or while he’s chatting up his cute young friend. Gazing across the room, all his servers were in line, so Yao could focus on the bar.

“Hello,” Yao strode across the floor and took his place behind the bar. He had managed to catch Feliciano taking about food before he came out, so Yao thought it only best to introduce himself as well as what he had to offer as well.“I’ll be helping out Feliciano here. My name is Yao, and I’ll be at your service if you desire something from the bar or anything else, aru. I’m sure you already know that, Francis.” He gave a flirty smile to the guests at the bar. Yao also got a better look at the young man who looked similar to Arthur, he definitely looked more confused than any of the usual lost souls that found their way in here. He looked so tense, like he could use a shot or five just to calm down.

“Come, aru. I promise we don’t bite here…at least that’s not my job.” Yao beaconed the young man to one of the empty bar seats. “Come, sit, and relax, aru. We’ll take care of you, I promise.” He gave the young man a small wink before sitting his order notepad down on the bar, taking a quick visual note that he had clean glasses and plenty of the basic drink ingredients and of course a good bottle of wine close at hand.

Nodding bashfully the blonde took a step back and bowed awkwardly and apologetically, his whole intimidating businessman charade being blown out of the water by his own frustration. As Dylan stood back up he tried to focus on the one who worked there, the cute Italian. "Um, my apologies for the brash entrance. You see I have important business with I-Arthur and I need to see him promptly." Cursing in his native tongue beneath his steadying breath as he stayed a few feet from the others, who were all so close, probably friends.

Even as the eldest blonde, the attractive Frenchman with a silver tongue hit on him, or possibly just flirted harmlessly, Dylan was too bothered regaining some composure, enough that he would stop looking like a maniac enough to twitch his lips into something resembling a smile, however awkward it came across. Sometimes the Venetian blonde wished he could overcome his social anxiety enough to make better friends with some people. Instead of looking like the baboon ass fool the others probably saw him as now. No matter that, he thought with a defeatist grin, as soon as Iggy signs these papers I can leave this town and return to...

There was an issue there. After this, the young man had nothing to go home to. No job, no school, just a family house and his mum. Maybe he could work for Arthur for awhile, not that he had skills suited for such a fancy restaurant. The thick-browed young man just sighed as his future started circling down the drain and he looked back up to the cute Asian man who offered him some refreshments with the rest of the group, he hoped. "If it isn't too much trouble could I have a list of the ales on tap?" Knowing his family, there was bound to be some heavy booze behind the counter. Hell, if he had to wait, so be it, a few drinks weren't going to hurt.

((Oh gosh please forgive me for any major mistakes and the tiny one's too. I need to stop responding so late at night.))

Feliciano smiled with relief as he caught Yao's eye. The other male was an actual server, as well as a bartender, and his time could not have been more perfect. Though he would be fine with the food portion of the order, serving alcohol was beyond his skill. He could recommend a good wine, but he did not trust himself entirely to do so with the customers, particularly Francis. But Yao knew what France liked and disliked, and the man could easily handle the orders of the others in the room while he retreated to the kitchen. He enjoyed spending time with customers, but his real place was behind the metal doors, cooking meals to satisfy them. He knew Yao could handle the floor, and he gave a small nod to the other man and watched as Yao settled behind the bar.

"Ve, I'll go and get started on your order, Francis." He called cheerfully as he began walking across the room. "If anyone else needs anything in the meantime, Yao can let me know, si?" He caught Yao's eye one more time, silently thanking the other male. He strode more quickly towards the kitchen, only allowing his smile to fall once the doors had closed behind him. He quickly made his way over to change aprons, hanging his serving one on the hooks by the door. Another sigh escaped his lips, and he took a moment to collect himself. Though he had finally found a few dishes the Frenchman would tolerate, Francis' criticisms occasionally hurt him more than he liked to show. He never spoke to Arthur about the matter, though he suspected the blond already knew of the Frenchman.

Speaking of Arthur...one of the other blonds had been looking for him. Feliciano briskly returned to his coat pocket, retrieving his phone. He scrolled through his contacts, locating Arthur's number. He recalled wanting to exchange numbers with the blond, in case Arthur ever had need of him during his off hours. The last thing Feliciano wanted was for Arthur to burn down the kitchen with his cooking projects, even if it meant coming in several hours before his shift actually started in order to cook for him. He considered calling the blond, but decided to text him instead. If Arthur was busy, he could tend to the text whenever he had time. "Man...here to see you...blond...says it's urgent...says he is family." He muttered as he typed, his fingers tapping the keys quickly. Feliciano's phone possessed a keyboard, which remained infinitely easier for him to use than a newer, smarter phone.

He quickly replaced his phone in his coat pocket, then made his way to the sink to wash his hands. Mentally, he ran through the limited menu items on Francis' approved list. He would have cooked French dishes for Francis (assuming the Frenchman would even eat his cooking if it were French), but most required hours upon hours of preparation. While the Thorny Rose was a higher class establishment, the club's entertainment was its biggest source of income. Feliciano's aesthetic choices and intuition in the kitchen justified the raised prices of the food, but that did not necessarily put the menu of the club at a five-star level. Not many patrons would come to a strip club to eat a five-star meal anyway, though delivering anything less than quality because of the nature of the club was inexcusable to Feliciano. With a pleased exclamation, he decided on the dish he would serve to Francis, and began gathering his ingredients.

((*hugs and loves* Dun worry so much dearest. Your replies are wonderful~! My turn to apologize for being super duper late in responding to this though D: *hides in the fail corner*))

Alfred grinned when Feliciano mention he was doing well. That was good news, ever since Alfred met him he always felt some kind of connection to the otherwise jumpy italian. His whole personality and  sweetness made Alfred just want to give him a massive hug each time he saw him. " Thats good and nah nothing just yet Feli, I ate before I left the hospital." Seeing that Francis was currently busy with whatever he was doing previously. " Maybe you could help me with my costume? It got ripped at the last show and I really need it later" He had no idea why customers liked cowboy wear but hey if the customers want it, he should deliver.

Alfred caught the slight french accent in Mattie's voice. Alfred always found the language itself sexy even if he couldn't speak it himself, he did enjoy hearing it. " So what brings you to these parts Mattie? From the sound of your tone I'm guessing you're part french or something like that? That is pretty sexy in my books" Alfred was also not afraid to speak his mind about things even if it seemed rather forward for a first meeting.

Where was Artie anyway, he hadn't seen the blond in age and from the looks of things it really looked that he ought to be here to settle some of the stuff which is happening. Sometimes Alfred felt Artie just liked to avoid social interactions as much as possible. That was just him anyway. God knows what his real reason was.

Yao smiled. “Of course, aru”

Yao bent down and pulled out a small menu for the anxious young man who finally sat down. Feliciano had already taken Francis and his younger companion’s orders before Yao had come out, which he was grateful for and nodded to the Italian as he went back to the kitchen. Yao just hoped that Alfred wasn’t bothering Francis too much with his torn costume. He knew that the American was busy with med school but couldn’t he at least learn some basic sewing skills? Oh well, as long as Francis wasn’t bothered by Alfred then it would be alright…for now. Yao kept the majority of his attention back on the young man who requested the ales.

“The front side is our normal stock of ales and the back side has our seasonal and specialty ales, aru. I’m particularly fond of our summer ales, the citrus gives them a particular sweetness I like.” Yao straightened up, realizing that he was leaning a little too close to the customer and regained a little more proper posture. “Aiya, sorry…I rambled too much. What fancies your tastes, aru?”

After the trouble he had caused the relaxed posture that he had adopted made Dylan alien in his own movements. When the waiter/ess or bartender came by to give him the ale list the simple country boy couldn't help but blush and agree with whatever she said, having him order a stout that he knew he hated, yet at that moment sounded like water to a man in the desert. "Don't worry about bothering me any, I'm just glad you didn't pull a gun on me mistaking me for a loon." After thanking the beautiful creature for the assistance and apologizing for his earlier actions, the boldly-browed Welshman looked the mesmerizing Asian in the eyes and without a second thought asked an innocent question. " Sorry for my intrusion but what is a beautiful woman like you doing in a place like this?" Hearing himself say it the young man felt like he should have elaborated that he meant a bar, he would hate to offend such a creature.

Now that he thought about it deeper, the Frenchman had been a little flirtatious towards him, and not to mention the boisterous American git who was hitting that poor kid, who was probably a tiny bit French himself? Altogether the man had sinking suspicion that he had traversed into a tafarn hoyw, a gay bar. With a blush deeper than the Ddraig Goch on his nation's flag, Dylan figured that was why the bartender was so comfortable here, and he could figure why his cousin owned it too. Oh if only Grandpa knew, he was pretty sure the old man would be doing barrel rolls if he saw what his grandson was doing with the pub.

If anything it was a new day and age and the young man smiled a bit, glad his cousin was such a leading member of the business community, so very forward thinking and obviously well off. Hell from what he has seen online from customer reports the service was one of a kind and the entertainment was apparently the most unique in all of Soho. Since he has already seen how well the staff handles even the oddest of patrons then he figured that he simply had to stay for the evening. Maybe even get the number of that dashing French marvel. What did they say his name was again?  Franky? Francine? Francis! That was definitely it.

Arthur sighed into his cup of tea as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He was dreading battling with the thing; he hadn't quite gotten the hang of his iphone yet, even though it was already three months old. Shaking his head, he slid it from the pocket of his trousers and unlocked it, a thick eyebrow quirking up in confusion as he read the text from Feliciano. "Urgent... Family?" His forehead creased in worry. The last time he'd gotten a message like that was when he'd heard his grandfather had died. A million scenarios ran through his mind, before he shook his head. "You're being silly, Arthur," he chided himself quietly as he set his teacup and saucer in the sink to wash later. "It's probably nothing too bad." There was only one way to find out, after all, and Arthur checked himself in the hall mirror to make sure he was presentable (after sending a text back to Feliciano saying he'd be right down) before striding down the stairs. It'd been some time since he'd last seen any of his family (he visited Mum and Dad over Christmas, but he hadn't seen some of his extended family since he'd moved to London).

Arthur couldn't help but feel relieved when he saw that the family member who'd come to visit him was Dylan, his favourite cousin and the one who was closest to him in age. He was still tense, though... What would the upright and stoic Welshman think of his father's pub having been turned into a strip club? "Cym! What a pleasant surprise, it's been ages," he greeted him warmly with his childhood nickname, though still warily. He'd try to gauge the other man's mood and reactions before he let on about anything, though he was glad that Yao seemed to be taking good care of him (and Feliciano, of course, though presumably the lad was in the kitchen preparing some meals... Arthur spotted a young man a little down the bar sitting next to that (unfortunately familiar) French ponce who worked at Arthur's favourite café. He wondered vaguely whether they knew each other. Alfred seemed to be taking care of them, or at least distracting them for the time being; he was rather good with customers, whether he was on stage or off). "You've been well, cousin? I must apologise for not having arranged your stay, I wasn't expecting your visit." He approached the strawberry-blond and sat across from him, subtly nodding his thanks to Yao.

Standing up from his chair awkwardly the younger Kirkland nodded to his cousin's welcome before returning to his seat promptly after Arthur. It had been well over five years since the cousin's saw each other, so when his childhood pseudonym was uttered he couldn't help but blush from embarrassment. "It's fine about the room, I only just got into town today so I'll find a hotel or something nearby." Now that his cousin was here Dylan relaxed slightly and removed his coat, a light thing that he wore to combat the brisk isle air.

"Sorry about showing up out of the blue and terrorizing your employees. Apparently your folks changed their number or some noise. Ffwcio, that isn't important right now." The Welshman smirked before his eyes suddenly grew intense, back to business. "Well then I do believe that I came here to discuss matters involving the safety deposit that my father left to specifically help out the pub. So if there is any place that would be more appropriate for this conversation I suggest we retire there promptly." Without realizing it the young man had started leaning in towards Arthur and lowering his voice to almost a whisper.

After he realized the lack of space between them the young man leaned back in his seat and smirked, looking around at the decor of the once grungy pub that had been in his family for generations. He couldn't help but feel his mouth tweak at the corner in amusement for what he thought he figured out. Lord knew that he was wrong but it wasn't as if he was going to be corrected. Not until later in the evening at least. So until then the young man could enjoy thinking that he was a great sleuth and keep that false knowledge to himself as a type of inside joke.

Yao chuckled as the young man made his order and asked his question. It wasn’t unusual for customers to mistake him for a woman. Part of Yao enjoyed the confusion. It made it a lot more fun to flirt and tease. Although deception wasn’t appealing either, so Yao made sure to be careful and mindful of his customers when this mistake happened.

Before he could reply the owner, Arthur, came down to the bar. Based on his reaction to the guest it became obvious that they knew each other, and with the simple word ‘cousin’ Arthur had confirmed Yao’s suspected idea that the two were related somehow. He returned Arthur’s nod of gratitude as Yao grabbed a pint glass and filled it to the line with the young man’s ale. Yao brought the glass of amber liquid to him as the two cousins stopped conversing for a while. Yao allowed himself to smile a little wider upon seeing the young man cracking a small smile. He was relaxing, finally. Arthur probably put the young man at ease.

“Here is your ale, sir.” Yao said setting the glass down on the bar in front of him, leaning in toward him. “As for your previous inquiry, you could say that a man like myself enjoys more … eccentric company. It makes things much more interesting, don’t you think?”

With a wink Yao pulled back to his original position behind the bar. The smile on Yao’s face had turned into a smirk, which remained as he turned his attention to his boss. What Yao had said to the young man wasn’t much of a lie. Before coming to London and discovering the club, his life had been incredibly dull. Privileged but dull. Sure he would inherit a stable company. Be able to settle comfortable and marry well. And with what? Regret and misery of being pushed into something he didn’t care for and not exploring all that was open to him. Although, a few family members held out some hope that this running away from his company duties was just a phase and he’d come back once  he came to his senses. Although at the moment, working in the club, living in his tiny flat, looking at his boss’ bright green eyes behind those caterpillars he called eyebrows, Yao’s senses had never been so clear.

“Nice to finally see you out on the main floor again, Arthur.” Yao chimed warmly as he rested his arms on the bar. “I was beginning to wonder if you were tied up in one of the VIP rooms and needed rescuing. Is there anything I can concoct for you or get you from the tap, aru?”

Feliciano hummed happily as he placed the finishing touches on the first portion of the meal. He would have the rest done shortly, but he figured he ought to use the small window of time to check on the other guests. Yao had not reappeared to place any new orders, and so his focus could be entirely on Francis' dish. With a pleased sigh, he picked up the small platter of snacks and made his way out of the kitchen. Since none of the others had ordered anything, he had decided to make them a snack anyway, in case they were simply being polite (or did not want to spend money). He would have liked to make something more complex for the group, but since he was not entirely sure of their tastes, he simply went with as much variety as possible. He doubted Francis would eat them--the man was picky to start with and would probably be saving room for his main course--and Alfred had declined anything, but that didn't mean everyone else would leave the food untouched.

He returned to the bar area in time to see Arthur enter the room. With his free hand, he gave a small wave to the club's owner. He would have subtly pointed out the man he had indicated in his texts, but he noticed immediately that Arthur would have no trouble recognizing his family. Thought slightly different, the newcomer's eyebrows were just shy of Arthur's own, marking them as family. Instead, he made his way back over to the bar, carefully excusing himself and setting the dish on the counter. "Ve, just something I thought everyone might like...there's a little of everything here, and if you want me to bring more I will. It's always nice to have company and what is good company without food, si?" He laughed lightly, sending Yao another bright smile tinged with relief. He truly was glad the man had come in! He grabbed a few small plates from behind the bar and set them on the counter, enough for everyone including Yao and Arthur.

He turned his attention more fully to Alfred then, making sure he had nothing on his apron before throwing his arms around the blond's neck and giving him a warm hug. "Ve, I'm sorry Alfred...I'm not really good at sewing. I'm good at other arts and crafts, but I've never really been good with a needle and thread. Plus, the last time I tried to sew something I ended up sticking myself and then there was lots of blood and my fratello said I wasn't allowed to use the needles anymore..." He smiled, laughing and reluctantly releasing the blond to frown guiltily. He did wish he could help Alfred with his predicament himself, rather than have the blond wait for Anabel or even Arthur (though the latter would never admit to being good at such a feminine hobby). He gazed at Alfred, the guilty frown turning into a pout as he tried to come up with some solution. Who else in the club sewed? Could he bother Arthur to ask someone to come in to help Alfred? He didn't know Anabel's number off the top of his head. Normally, he would have asked her for it (she was pretty, and he would have liked to talk to her outside of club hours), but he really had no need for it since he so rarely needed a costume.

An idea struck him, and his smile returned. "Ve, I wonder if Nei-chan would be able to help! I know she does lots of her own arts and crafts!" He did have Nei-chan's number, and if he didn't he knew his fratello had it. "Si, I bet she would! I can call her right now!" He quickly rushed back to the kitchen, removing his phone from his pocket again. He scrolled through his contacts, quickly finding the number he needed. He would send Nei-chan a text, and then get back to work on Francis' dish. If she could not come, he would let Alfred know. He typed out his text, hitting 'Send' before stuffing his phone back into his pocket and making his way back over to the sink. He could only hope that she would be free, or else Alfred might be stuck until Anabel showed up!

((Sorry things are slightly different in order in my post x.x Feli had ducked back into the kitchen, but he never would miss a chance to get a hug from the heroic Alfred and so I just HAD to add it in <3 Also, Lovi has Kiku's number for reasons of his own, though Lovi best knows Kiku as Kaze rather than Nei-chan. However, Feliciano would know that Kaze = Nei-chan's family))

Kiku took a sip of his tea, then set the cup down and resumed his work. He needed to finish the small adjustments to Nei-chan's costume before her performance that night, and though they were not difficult, he had put off the task and was running out of time. He reasoned that if he could not finish this outfit, she could always wear a different one. But the outfit was a favorite among patrons, and nights like these drew enough of a crowd that Nei-chan would want to wear her best. He frowned, expertly threading the needle through the fabric. The general repairs had only taken a few moments, but now his efforts fell to the more intricate designs along the sleeves. The tear had been completely by accident, a patron getting a little grabbier than he should have, but he knew he would have trouble repairing it. His upbringing in the wedding industry had made sure of that, unfortunately. He swapped needles, working on the delicate center and small details of the final flower. He would only need ten minutes more before he could call the garment complete. He was thankful that the damage was less significant and time-consuming than he had originally thought.

The vibrating of his phone caused him to jump a little, though he managed not to stab himself with the needle. After waiting for his heart to stop racing, he reached over and carefully picked up the phone. The general 'Honda' house line--really only a mobile number he gave to anyone who asked him his place of residence rather than his personal line--had gone off, flashing a number Kiku recognized as Feliciano's. He paused before reading the message, calling to mind everyone that Feliciano had met at the club. He opened the message, relieved to see that Feliciano had addressed it to Nei-chan. Skimming the rather lengthy text, he gathered that Alfred needed help repairing his costume, and that no one from the costume area was available or had arrived yet. He searched his memory, trying to recall if Nei-chan had ever told Feliciano that she could sew. Ah yes...she had mentioned making her own clothes. He sent a text back, careful to emulate Nei-chan's bubbly nature as best he could through the text--"Ah, how terrible! Please tell Alfred-san I will be there very shortly~!" Satisfied, he sent the text and then set the phone aside. He would finish up, get changed, and then get to the club as quickly as possible. Alfred would likely need his costume before showtime.

~*~

Ten minutes later, Nei-chan made her way briskly down the street in the direction of the club. She was not in an elaborate headpiece, though if Arthur asked her to perform she could easily change into one. Instead, she wore her newly repaired outfit, as well as simple makeup and hairpins. On her shoulder, she carried a bag containing several sewing needles and threads. She smiled kindly at anyone who stared openly in her direction; it was a little early for performers to be out, but perhaps customers wandered nearby in the daylight. She hurried as she neared the club, taking out her phone and texting Feliciano that she was almost there. She reasoned that Anabel could have already arrived, but if so Feliciano would have texted her letting her know. 'Unless of course Feli-kun was busy in the kitchens!' The thought made her giggle as she made her way to the employee entrance.

As soon as she entered the club, she went immediately to the main room. After a quick glance around, she spotted Alfred hanging out near the bar. She hesitated a moment, trying to identify them before she made her presence known. She recognized Yao...and was that...Francis? 'I wonder what he is doing here so early? Perhaps he is here to meet with Kirkland-san?' The final man in the room she did not recognize. Was he here to see Arthur as well? She stepped out into the main room, heading for Alfred. She could at least help him repair his costume, then worry about getting to know the others in the room. As she stepped farther into the room, she noticed Arthur standing close to the stranger. 'Ah, so he knows Kirkland-san...that is good!' She smiled warmly, walking quickly in Alfred's direction. "Alfred-san! Please forgive me for arriving so late, but I can help you with your costume if you'd like!"

Alfred was really at his wits end when Feliciano mentioned he couldn't fix it. Now what was he going to do? Artie made it very clear he had to look after his costumes but it wasn't his fault the customer got all grabby hands with him. The only other thing he could think of was just do his performance with the torn costume well.. it would have worked if the tear wasn't right on where his ass cheeks were. Stupid perverted dude... Just when he thought all hope was lost, Feliciano mentioned that he could ask Nei- chan to help out with this issue " Could you? That would be so awesome thanks Feli you're the best"

He had only met Nei-chan a few times and she seemed really nice. Really pretty aswell.. pity he didn't have the chance to actually perform with her. " That was fast, you are truly a life saver Nei-chan." Taking hold of her hand he tugged her to a less crowded area and showed her the tear on the ass part of the pants. " Yea.. someone got really grabby with my ass and tore the pocket.. I mean I normally can do something to hide the tears but with it being directly on that area its kina hard to not make it noticeable."

Alfred hope she would be able to fix it but with the outfit being a fake sort of leather.. alfred refused to wear real leather or fur given the fact it came from cute animals. He figured you would need some kind of thread and stuff to get the tear fixed without it being very obvious. " Why is that Artie never actually put us in an act together? I mean I know we both make tons of money for him being separate acts but I'm sure we could pull in twice the crowds if we were a duo act.." He should talk to Artie about this. There were very few people who could actually talk to the grumpy brit but Alfred who wasn't easy fazed by his blunt manner got along rather well with him.

Nei-chan gave Alfred a kind smile. "Ah, I wanted to get here as quickly as possible. I figured you might need your outfit before the show tonight, and I did not want to keep you worrying about it." She blushed lightly as he took her hand, and followed him to the less crowded area. She noted that his hand was pleasantly warm, and his grip was strong without being overpowering. She could easily guess why a customer might get too grabby with the blond. Alfred was incredibly attractive, and his costume accented his assets perfectly. But that only encouraged the patrons, and though it was their job to do so (such patrons always brought in the most money), Arthur still expected them to take care of themselves and their costumes. Arthur would be less than pleased if Alfred tried to perform with a ripped costume, even less so if Alfred could not use the costume until it underwent repairs. Nei-chan supposed that Anabel could have repaired it; she was the club's seamstress and costumer, but that would have made Alfred wait. She was not entirely certain Anabel would be working that night. She was secretly thankful for Kiku's ability to sew; he had stayed in practice even after abandoning his parents' wedding dress industry.

She examined the outfit, running her fingers along the fabric and nodding as Alfred spoke. The torn pocket was the first thing to catch her eye, though she also noted a few places where the seams were weakening. She could fix those in no time, and the pants would last much longer this way. "Ah, I can fix this in no time, Alfred-san!" She gave him a sweet smile, trying to calm him. The faux leather would require a special needle, but she had the proper one with her. "Please do not worry, Alfred-san. I have everything that I need in here." She set her bag down, moving to sit in one of the chairs. She probably could have done the project standing (Kiku had enough practice), but she was only known as 'fairly proficient' with the needle. That of course did not mean she would do a shoddy job on Alfred's pants. After checking the pocket and stitching again, she quickly threaded the needle and began working. The faux leather was not the easiest material to work with, and she feigned having trouble around the first corner of the pocket for a moment. She needed for Alfred to believe she could functionally sew, even though each stitch was perfectly even and sturdy.

After a quiet minute, she completed the pocket and moved on to the weakened stitching. More 'familiar' with sewing along the seams, she glanced up at Alfred, tilting her head in thought. She assumed that Arthur had kept them apart for professional reasons, though she couldn't imagine that the two of them would go beyond flirting on stage. "I do not know, Alfred-san...but I think it would be fun to perform with you!" She did, and she could think of a few things the two of them could do together that would be real crowd favorites. But Arthur held the final say on such matters, and they would have to approach the club's owner about performing together. "Perhaps we should ask Kirkland-san about it. I am sure he would consider it, at least." She did not mind talking to Arthur, though any matters considering performances had to go through Kiku. "I would be most honored to perform alongside you, Alfred-san. Your performances are my favorite." She paused in her sewing, hiding a light blush behind her hand. Nei-chan did her best to be scheduled at the same time as the blond, partially because Alfred would likely not get along with anyone else in his family, and partially because she truly enjoyed watching him perform. Alfred knew how to own the stage.

She added a few more stitches, then glanced up at Alfred again. "I am sorry this is taking a little bit longer, Alfred-san. I wanted to touch up some of the seams on your pants." She finished the seams, then checked the hem and began working on it too. "If you ever have problems with your costume again, you can always come to me if Anabel-san is not around." She did not want to take the seamstress' jobs from her, unless Anabel either asked her or needed her help. But she did not want Alfred to stress over his costumes. The blond had enough to worry about, like his schoolwork. After another couple of minutes, she tied off the thread and set her needle aside. "Ah, how does this look, Alfred-san?" She held up the garment for his inspection. She noted with some satisfaction that the new threads were invisible against the faux leather, and the seams looked much sturdier.

Arthur shook his head lightly at Yao's comment, chuckling. "You just wanted an excuse to see me tied up, is that it~?" he quipped, his dry tone subtly tinged with humour. He and the bartender often joked in this way; it was partly because the customers enjoyed watching their "flirting", and partly because they simply knew each other that well. Yao was one of Arthur's oldest employees, so he'd known the man for years now and was comfortable joking with him like this. His cousin's presence kept him from joking further, however, and he settled for a subtle smirk in Yao's direction. "The usual for me, please," he said (Yao, aside from himself, was the only person Arthur trusted to make his favourite drink perfectly. A Pimm's cup had to be got right, after all.), just as he noticed Feliciano bustle out of the kitchen and envelop Alfred in a warm hug. Chuckling, he shook his head with a note of fondness and gave a wave to the cook before returning his attention to Dylan.

"Nonsense, nonsense," he scoffed gently, waving a hand. "I've got an extra room upstairs where you can stay. You're family, after all." Besides the apartment where Antonio was currently residing, and the large room he used to store costumes, there were a couple of rooms which Arthur (with Antonio's help) had fixed up and which functioned as private rooms for guests or, occasionally, employees who needed somewhere to stay for the night. He'd originally thought of allowing patrons of the club to rent the rooms, but that thought had been defenestrated immediately when he'd considered that his employees were performers, not prostitutes, and while some of them might be alright with the idea, others would be dead set against it. The last thing Arthur wanted was for his employees' safety and well being to be at risk, after all. Besides, the rooms made cozy guest bedrooms and were perfect should Arthur want company. In fact, a small part of the safety deposit Dylan was asking about had gone to renovations that included those rooms. Ah, irony. Though, Arthur wondered why his cousin had waited so long to inquire about the use of that deposit. "No, no, you're not terrorising anyone. And it's fine if we discuss it here--" he looked up as he saw Feliciano pass by on his way to the kitchen, and thanked him for the snacks.

Shaking his head, Arthur turned back to his cousin and frowned slightly. What was he getting all smirky about? It was probable he'd already figured out exactly what sort if establishment this was; after all, Arthur didn't exactly hide the fact that the Thorny Rose was a strip club, and besides that Dylan was a fairly smart man. Perhaps he ought to test the waters a bit....

A perfect opportunity presented itself in the form of Nei-chan, who entered through the front doors in a beautiful outfit as always. Arthur gave her a little wave  in return for the shy smile she sent his way upon entry, and he watched as she and Alfred passed, some sort of leatheresque material in the taller's hands. Ah, yes... One of Alfred's costumes must've gotten ripped. Anabel had today off, so it made sense that Alfred would enlist Nei-chan's (and by extension, Kiku's) expertise. He'd been thinking of asking Alfred and one of Kiku's "family" to perform together.... They seemed to get on well enough. Ah, but that was a thought for another time. At the moment he had more pressing matters. Dylan might wonder who the "girl" was, though. "Nei-chan is one of my top entertainers here," he explained in what he hoped was an offhand way. Arthur wanted to gauge Dylan's reaction... He needed to know whether his cousin had figured it out yet, and furthermore what he thought of it. He knew the man would not be opposed to his spending of the security deposit, as the club was obviously a very lucrative venue. But he could not know what Dylan thought of the type of venue it was. Not unless he made it known, that is.

Out of the corner if his eye Arthur noticed that French ponce and his young date get up from their seats; Feliciano would be disappointed they hadn't stayed to eat, no doubt. Doubly so considering he always put forth extra effort to please the picky Francis' tastes.
