Character Name: Yekaterina Braginskaya

Age: 26

Appearance: Yekaterina or ‘Katya’ for short, is a tall plump woman, with a generous chest. A chest she doesn’t show off, Katya always has her shirts buttoned all the way to the top, or wears t-shirts. She also prefers pants over skirts, overall she dresses nicely (as long as you don’t notice she has the same 6 piece of clothing, due to financial reasons.)

On the center of her back is a tattoo of a ‘Pysanka’ a ukranian easter egg. She designed it herself,the patterns was without colours but seemed to have an almost kaleidoscopic effect. There are so many points of interest that it makes it difficult to focus on a single line.

Mutant Abilities:

Illusions with a hypnotic effect and Hypnotism

Katya has the powers to create illusions. The illusions appear in flat circles of light with patterns like a mandala, the difference being that the mandala’s change patterns and colours just like a kaleidoscope. And if you look into one of the mandala’s your mind would do the rest, a person can see their dearest loved ones and become memorized by the circle. Or for children they can see things from memories or stories. These mandala’s have a hypnotic effect, if a person gets lost in a illusion for too long, or depending on the strength of the illusion, the person would faint or fall asleep. To create realistic illusions without the mandala’s is physically exhausting for Yekaterina. She can only do for a limited amount of time, so she relies on the fact that most people when faced with her kaleidoscopes would be lost with their own minds.

Her hypnotism powers aren’t the strongest, she relies on her illusions for offensive situations. But for hypnotism, if given the time she can use it to pry information out of the unwilling mind. But like human interrogations this takes a lot of time, and some of the brotherhood believe torture is much more effective and less time consuming. Because those with a strong will can hold of her powers. Sometimes indefinitely.

Sexuality: She doesn’t care about gender, but she wouldn’t be in a relationship, she thinks it is too dangerous.

Personality:
On the surface, Yekaterina is the kind of person who smiles and cries a lot. She jokes around and works to make ends meat, she doesn’t let anything bother her, and is nearly impossible to get angry. Her greatest fault is that she would do practically anything for money (except prostitution, or stripping, she’s much to modest and self-conscious to do that.)

But beneath her cheerful and nurturing personality is a mutant. If the world considers her dangerous, then so does she. But she’s no longer afraid to use her powers. And while she would never hurt an innocent child, she would trick them if she thought it was for a greater good. In this way she is selfless, but still manipulative. She doesn’t mind lying to all her neighbours about what she truly is, and when she puts a positive spin on it and lets her naivety get away with her imagination, its almost like she’s a secret agent! And then nothing seems so wrong anymore.

Background:

Yekaterina was the oldest of three, though the third sibling she had never had the chance to meet. On her darkest days, she would blame her brother, but in truth she knew it wasn’t.

It was her parents. They’re the ones that gave birth to a mutant.

But she could barely hold it against them, some of the mutants she’s met…Well, the fear wasn’t baseless. She had a baby brother, the young thing was so small, but he was a happy child while she took care of him and he was only 4 when she was taken away.

It happened while she was reading a story to him, the words came easily to Katya, as she turned the pages and watch her baby brother smile. It wasn’t after a couple of pages did she realise he wasn’t looking at her but above her. But before she the chance to see what he was looking at, her mother screamed.

It was after the scream that Yekaterina noticed the thing above her head. Something bright and beautiful was dissolving into shards of light all around her. And for a moment she saw a knight trying to escape the dying light. The knight that was in her storybook. Her brother laughed and clapped his hands. While, Katya’s mother clutched her swollen stomach. Her eyes stared accusingly at her eldest daughter.

The next thing she knew, was being shoved into a car and sent off to live with other mutant children. To never hear from her parents again.

To this day, Yekaterina misses her brother and the sibling she never met, and wonders if her little brother even remembered her. So now she joined the brotherhood, deciding to fight for her and her fellow mutant rights. But Katya found herself in a darker world than she ever expected.

On the plus side, her wages are pretty good. And like many people, even the kind Yekaterina has a price.

PLOTLINE - to be updated

At age of twelve is sent away from home to work on a mutant group home / farm.
When she was 18 she convinced FEMEN to take on mutant rights as well.
Her new group of friends encouraged her to master her powers, so that's what he did.
When one of the members is killed by a mutant, they ganged up on her and beat her up.
She left her old city and moved around, pretending she was human. This lasted a couple of years.
She settled in NYC and worked at a daycare.
After a year, she was approched by a brotherhood member, and while at first she was reluctant a part of her has always been angry at humans so she agreed.
Has been with the brotherhood for over a year.
Met Sprout.

Hehe, she would probably be the one who ends up taking care of him, actually. XD Antonio's power is age manipulation, so he's usually in the body of a little kid. Because he doesn't want anyone to find out that he can make himself older or younger, he stays in that body and pretends his power is just to make plants grow (since he can alter their age too). He's also pretty new to the Brotherhood himself. If Yekaterina does end up coming into the Brotherhood after him though, he'll definitely be friendly to her and show her what he knows at least. He's just shy and his English isn't so good, but I have the feeling he'd warm up to her eventually if he thought she was a nice lady.

Hehe, thanks. XD I'm having fun playing him as a little kid. He knows his powers would be really useful to the Brotherhood, and that's why he hides them. ^^; You can read his long profile if you want, or I can summarize it for you, but basically, he's only hanging around with the Brotherhood because they saved him from mutant traffickers and he needs protection. Once he starts understanding more English and figures out that he's living with a bit of an extremist gang, he decides he doesn't really want to stick around there anymore. I did start a thread that takes place before he finds out they're all that bad, though. It's called "Sprout's Garden" so feel free to post there if you like~ I wrote that the Brotherhood was teaching Toni English, so maybe he and Katya can learn together and help each other out! XD

Ah I would definitely love to do an rp with you. I doubt when they first meet they'd be able to recognise each other as sisters since technically they never met, but it would be interesting. And maybe they do somehow find out they're sisters.
